ABOUT :A man, suffering from short-term memory loss, uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife.
ABOUT:
Two Los Angeles homicide detectives are dispatched to a northern town where the sun doesn't set to investigate the methodical murder of a local teen.
Both have titles that hint and follow the message of their films. Insomnia has names that fade to suggest blurred vision. Memento has fast pace names until MEMENTO slows down. These films both open with music played by strings, a slow and minor sound. This creates a weary atmosphere and mood.
They both then go on to the pictures. Insomnia opens with blood dripping on a white fabric. Blood is a common convention for a thriller film. Memento also uses it in its opening scene, you notice blood on the wall in the picture that is held up.
